Real Case

Another practical case of OSINT, but this time it was to give a “lesson” to a friend of a relative.

This person transmitted everything on social networks, all her life, photos and photos, she did not have the slightest regard for her privacy, so the relative told me that it could be done so that she realized the danger of doing this. We were analyzing their social networks and suddenly we saw the opportunity.

We are going to call the specific person “aurora”, it turns out that aurora was planning a trip and had been commenting on it for days, but when the day came he published the flight ticket which was from Madrid to New York, on the ticket we could see the flight number and from there everything was very easy, knowing where the flight was at what time it would arrive and at which gate it would disembark.

From there a contact from New York would be waiting for her. Upon arrival aurora went out through the boarding gate and the contact went to her, after introducing himself he told her his whole life (thanks to the information he had taken from his social networks) he told him that he was waiting for her.

She quickly got scared a lot, since the person who was waiting for her there had been disguised and looked a bit bad 😉 when she saw that she got nervous and well to the point of almost crying she told her that everything had been a experiment. That thanks to publishing her life on the internet and especially her plane ticket, it was possible to trace where she was going and where she was going to disembark, that it came from a relative (we told her from whom) and we passed the call

At that moment, aurora collapsed and she confessed that she had been very scared, of how that person in such a large airport could know who she was and all her life. She acknowledged that all this time that her family member had called her attention to watch that she published on social networks and the danger that she posed, she had ignored it but that from this moment things were going to change.

After this Aurora said:

Upon returning to Spain, I will speak with Brigada Osint and they will advise me what I should do in terms of privacy on the Internet, what things I should and should not do and understand more about the technology and the path that it is taking

This time it was just a scare but who knows who is behind the network investigating and following your steps, is it worth it for a few likes and followers to expose your life like this? YOU CHOOSE
